Daniel made this Pipe from Plateau Briar, dyed it solid black, and rusticated it. The grain of the briar reveals itself subtly on the sides of the pipe, when it hits the light just right. He included a brass ferrule at the base of the bowl to accent the otherwise all black silhouette of the pipe.
The stem is fitted with an army mount, is approximately 4 inches long, and made entirely of acrylic.
The bowl diameter is 7/8” and the width of the pipe, at its widest point, is approximately 2 1/4”.
The overall length of the pipe is 5 1/8”.
This pipe is hand-signed “Dan” on the bottom of the bowl.
This pipe features a natural briar bowl, free of pre-applied carbon coatings. This allows you to build your own protective cake from the very first light, ensuring a pure, personalized smoking experience.
Breaking It In
1. Fill Halfway: For the first 5–10 smokes, fill the bowl only halfway to build carbon at the base.
2. Smoke Slowly: Keep the cherry cool to avoid scorching the bare wood.
3. Clean Up: Between the first 5 smokes, run a pipe cleaner through the entirety of the pipe, and let it rest for 12 hours. This ensures a smooth carbon buildup, and prevents burnout in the briar.
